Schiacciata alla Fiorentina or Italian Easter Cake


Ingredients


Original recipe makes 1 9x13-inch cake



  1. 2 cups all-purpose flour
  2. 1 cup white sugar
  3. 7 tablespoons warm milk
  4. 1/4 cup olive oil
  5. 1 orange, juice and zest
  6. 2 eggs
  7. 1 1/2 tablespoons baking powder
  8. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  9. 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg



Directions


1. Preheat range to 360 levels F (180 levels C).

2. Grease a 9x13-inch cooking dish with butter.

3. Mix flour, sugar, dairy, extra virgin olive oil, lemon juice, lemon energy, egg, cooking dust, vanilla flavor, and nutmeg in a large dish until mixture is well combined.

4. Pour mixture into the prepared cooking dish.

5. Bake in the preheated range until a toothpick placed into the center of the cake comes out clean, about 30 minutes. Let cool before serving.
