Canadian Cedar Planked Salmon


Ingredients



Original recipe makes 6 servings




  1. 24x8x1 inch untreated cedar plank
  2. 6 (4 ounce) fillets salmon
  3. 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  4. 1 large red onion, chopped
  5. 1 lemon, sliced
  6. 1/2 tablespoon black peppercorns, crushed





Directions



1. Immerse untreated cedar cedar in water. Soak approximately 12 hours, or overnight.

2. Preheat an outdoor bbq grill for warm. Place prepared cedar on the bbq grill, and spread with rough salt. Cover bbq grill and warm cedar 2 to 3 moments, until dry. Adjust bbq grill temperature for medium warm.

3. Rub fish filet with olive oil. Arrange on the cedar. Top the fish with red onion, lemon pieces and black peppercorns.

4. Cook fish, covered, 10 to 12 moments, or until solid and easily flaked with a fork.
